Sorry I've been away for awhile but I will be posting some book reviews and political comments from time to time now
Thanks

Missed making entries for awhile but I'm back.
We need a gasoline tax or we are never going to be free from our dependence on the oil purchased from our enemies!! We need to make sure that the future of Social Security is safe. We have to defeat the party of 'No' in November. We have to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan ....now. The cost of these 2 unwinnable wars in service men and women killed and for materiel is over 3 trillion dollars. Our recovery depends on cutting our defense budget. We have to put a tariff on goods from China.....we can't continue to operate at a deficit with the Chiness
Enough thoughts for awhile

Sorry for my absence of late.......my mind has been occupied with getting Healthcare reform passed. Now I only hope that there is enough time for more citizens to realized how good a start this is......and not take their anger out at the polls.

Palin,Palin

That's all you here these days. Stories about the former Mayor of Wasilla and former Governor of Alaska. You never hear that she voted 'for' the 'Bridge to Nowhere' until she voted against it.....or of the several ethical investigations about her......or that she went to 7 colleges before she got a degree. ....or that she wasn't sure that Africa was a country or a continent. Oh yeah, or that she put into the discussion of heath care reform the term......'death panels'.....A whole lot of garbage about a person who some think should run for President in 1012 !!! Someone has to be brave enough to take her down a peg or two.

Whether the Republicans can be brought to the table or not, health care must be passed now! And yes , a public option must be part of the bill. Malpractice reform is acceptable and we should be able to order drugs from Canada !!

First Time Author with a Great Book

Charles McCain has just published a terrific first novel....'An Honorable German' . An exciting story of WWII from the perspective of a young German Naval Officer. Max Brekendorf was a dedicated officer but not a Nazi or an ideologue and his views of the war kept evolving as he escaped one battle after another. A fascinating and well documented book of historical fiction. A must read!

Cheney has memory failure

Seems Dick Cheney forgot to mention that they never found the WMDs or that there was any connection between Saddam Hussein and Al-qaida and that there were 50 warnings about an impending attack on the US before 9/11

Let's see now......Clinton leaves office and the government has a surplus, Bush leaves office and the nation has the biggest deficit it has ever had???? and it's the Democrats fault??? Now it is becoming known that Madoff isn't the only person who has ripped off citizens for 50 billion dollars.....the reconstruction of Iraq has cost the people 50 billion dollars and we don't know where all the money has gone........down a huge sink hole I suspect. I don't really know if Obama has the time in four years to correct all the damage that Bush has done in 8 years !!!

The New Year

2008 is over and none too soon. The new administration will take office in a matter of days. Will they be able to correct all the damage that Bush & Cheney created.......that is the leading question? The first order of business is 'do no harm'......and I think that Obama has a good hold on that. We will emerge from this disaster and we will hopefully be stronger in the future.
Yea for the USA

The homestretch !!

Don't believe any of the polls. Get out there and vote.....vote early.......don't let this opportunity get away. We are on the verge of victory for out country. Don't let the right wing steal this election. Elect Barack Obama. Let's make it a landslide!!

The convention is almost over and the stage is set. Now the work intensifies as we approach election day ! We must not allow Barack Obama to be 'swift-boated' as John Kerry was and if necessary we have to answer charge for charge. Get down and dirty if that is what is called for. The key to the election is in the number of young people and African-Americans who go to the polls. The numbers from the primaries mean nothing if we can't duplicate it in November.

Americans Numb to the Iraq War

Surveys show that Americans have given up on influencing this corrupt government on it's Iraq policy. We have become inured to the rising death toll and lack of progress on the political front. When will it end? McCain says we will stick it out , even if it takes 100 years !! How unbelievable! And yet as each day passes we see us losing ground in Afghanistan, where at least there was real progress for awhile !

Make or Break Tuesday?

I've got my fingers crossed , I still think Hilliary would be the better candidate. And I certainly hope the press stops playing nice with McCain !!!

Nader, the Spoiler

I can't believe that Ralph Nader is running for President again!!! What an unbelievable ego!! I guess he justs wants McCain to win!! I don't know who can talk some sense into him???

A War to the end

It isn't going to be pretty ...picking a Democratic Presidential candidate. And I predict it is going to get uglier and the Republicans are going to love it.
I hope not but ....

Giants by 7........if not takes the points and win a million.
